About the Project

Deconstruct (UK) Ltd successfully negotiated the substantial demolition and reinforced concrete package at the Maple Springfield, Shepherd Street Development. 

The works included; 

 Significant party wall support to enable demolition of existing single and two storey buildings. 

 King Post Piles to provide support to party wall temporary works. 

 Underpinning and contiguous piled solutions to the perimeter of the site. 

 Triple stage temporary basement propping 

 5000m3 of Reduce Level Excavation 

 Reinforced concrete (Caltite) Substructure 

 Reinforced concrete superstructure inclusive of suspended slabs and liner walls below ground and a 3 storey RC Frame with roof upstands.

Project Challenges

Deconstruct (UK) Ltd were challenged with developing an innovative temporary works solution to the existing structures around the perimeter of the site in order to allow this complex residential development to be constructed within a tight construction programme. 

Project Challenges include; 

 Restricted Single Access to the Project (Shepherds Market). 

 150t of Temporary steelwork support to Party Walls and Basement Excavations installed in conjunction with progress the new build works. 

 Waterproof Concrete Construction. 

 Working adjacent existing structures of varying condition. 

 Multiple party wall awards. 

 Strict movement monitoring regime. 

 Short demolition and construction programme.
