Bringing professionalism, accuracy, and an eye for detail founded on years of training and experience as a draughtsman, Steve has worked in the construction sector for over four decades. He leads Deconstruct’s pre-construction team on bid management for London demolition, basement, and superstructure projects, with responsibility for the preparation of tenders, including pricing, programming, and preparation of technical documentation. His role also sees him collaborating with our in-house and external engineers on temporary works, as well as leading presentations and negotiations.

In a career of over 25 years in the construction industry across the UK, Sam has amassed a wealth of experience, particularly in the fields of demolition and remediation, where his work included highly regulated sectors such as petro-chemical and nuclear decommissioning. As Operations Director for Deconstruct, his primary focus is on the safe and efficient delivery of multiple demolition and groundworks projects across central London, with a remit covering retained façades, cut and carve, floor by floor and restricted access.

Working in the construction sector since leaving school, Stephen attained an engineering degree before moving into the steelwork industry. He brings over 15 years’ experience in steelwork manufacture and installation to his role, specialising in cut and carve and significant temporary works projects. Directing his team of Contracts Managers and Supervisors, his role as Steelwork Operations Director sees him coordinating every aspect of design, supply, manufacture, and installation of steelwork structures. He is also a Regional Chairman of the British Constructional Steelwork Association.

As Deconstruct’s Operations Director, Mark oversees multiple projects across central London involving demolition, deep basement construction and new RC frames, alongside planning and construction support for tenders. Starting out as a graduate engineer and progressing to site and project management, it’s a role to which he brings over 30 years of construction experience, working on numerous projects from commercial office space, educational facilities, new-build and refurbishment, as well as complex cut and carve of existing heritage Grade I and II listed structures.

Arriving in the UK from overseas in the late 90s, Johny worked his way up over subsequent years from groundworks, general labour and plant operator to management positions. Vastly experienced, he’s managed the safe delivery of numerous high profile and award-winning projects, on budget and to a high standard. As Operations Director for Deconstruct, he manages all aspects of the operations teams’ work on subterranean and superstructure projects, from safety and quality to labour allocation and works programme planning.

Richard brings over 35 years of international experience in the piling and foundation industry to his role as Deconstruct ‘s Piling Director, including work in overseas locations from South Africa to Hong Kong, major projects such as Crossrail and the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, and over 100 developments in the London area. From rail and retail to hotel and commercial, his track record across diverse sectors encompasses vast geotechnical expertise in all forms of piling, ground anchorages, grouting and soil nailing.

Following 8 years as Contracts Manager for the Carey Group, Adrian joined Deconstruct in a similar capacity in 2018. Hugely experienced, particularly in cut and carve and demolition projects, he brings a wealth of extensive expertise gained from working in live environments with sensitive receptors.

Michael brings over 17 years of structural steel industry experience to his role as Steelwork Contracts Manager for Deconstruct. A specialist in the cut and carve environment, his extensive expertise extends across all facets of the design, fabrication and erection processes. His impressive track record includes a number of high-profile, landmark schemes across the capital, delivering exceptional outcomes to complex and logistically challenging projects — on time and on budget.

After gaining an MSc in Programme and Projects Management, Lee acquired 14 years of experience across numerous sectors. Honing his specialist skills with eight years in the construction industry, his current position as Senior Planner sees him fulfilling a key operational and commercial support function for Deconstruct. Working across multiple planning software platforms, his wide-ranging role encompasses everything from tender submissions, preconstruction operations, live site monitoring, reporting and planning under different forms of contract.
